Regional Business Leader, Sleep Disorders - New England
Takeda invites experienced sales leaders to join us as a Regional Business Leader focusing on the launch of a first‑in‑class orexin therapy for narcolepsy type 1. This role leads a team of sales representatives to achieve and exceed company objectives, driving new product launch success in a developing therapeutic area.
Base Pay Range $175,200.00 - $240,900.00 per year
Responsibilities
Lead the compliant execution of business strategies to deliver or exceed sales expectations at regional and area levels.
Recruit, hire, and coach a high‑performance team of sales representatives.
Translate the broader vision into a high‑performance culture that values results, accountability, and ongoing development.
Foster learning and growth, retaining talent, and collaborating with Human Resources and Commercial L&D for development opportunities.
Provide consistent feedback as part of performance management through measurable outcomes and advanced coaching techniques.
Prioritize field coaching and strategic territory management to elevate selling skills and growth.
Implement marketing strategies regionally, managing resources such as speaker programs.
Develop and execute region sales plans and oversee representative sales plans quarterly.
Analyze region and territory performance to identify growth opportunities.
Manage sales budget strategically to drive business growth.
Build and maintain knowledge of key KOLs, sleep centers, and payor landscape to support business growth.
Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to achieve goals.
Plan and conduct product launch meetings aligned with marketing plans.
Leverage AI and digital tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
Communicate insights across teams and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA.
5+ years of management‑level experience in pharma, biotech, or medical device industries, with proven sales success.
Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with strong selling skills.
Business and strategic planning expertise for identifying opportunities and adapting to market conditions.
Coaching, delegation, and motivational skills for a sales team.
Analytical skills to develop strategic, actionable insights.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Comfort with emerging technologies and AI‑enabled processes.
Residency within or nearby the assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Master’s Degree.
3+ years of people‑leadership experience.
Experience selling or leading teams in rare disease or sleep disorders.
Pharmaceutical product launch experience.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver’s license.
Travel Requirements
50‑75% travel, including overnights.
Ability to drive or fly to meetings and client sites.
