The Team The Healthcare Industry Group, a subsidiary of A&M, is at the forefront of delivering transformational change to the healthcare industry. You will work with clients in health systems, physician groups, ancillary providers (medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental, behavioral health), managed‑care plans, government programs, investors, lenders, medical devices, suppliers and life sciences.
Services
Technology Assessment – review and analysis of platform, data and system architectures and related applications.
Performance Improvement / Operational Turnaround – collaborative, data‑driven advisory to identify and implement key performance improvements.
Cost Optimization – holistic, cross‑functional approach to accelerate EBITDA and cash‑flow enhancements.
M&A Services – due diligence, integration planning, divestiture and carve‑out execution.
Finance Operations – improvement of finance reporting and month‑end close.
Interim Management – executive appointments (CEO, COO, CFO, CIO) on a temporary basis.
How You Will Contribute As a Director you will be a “player‑coach,” leading a team and acting as the main conduit between Healthcare clients and our team on complex MedTech assignments. Responsibilities include:
Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost structure.
Review Go‑to‑Market strategies including portfolio assessments and pricing.
Build and manage financial models and conduct financial and operational analyses.
Provide PMO assistance and governance support throughout transactions.
Utilize project‑management tools such as Smartsheet, Lucid, PowerBI and Generative AI.
Guide clients through crisis management and rapid implementation of performance plans.
Develop and monitor KPI metrics and execute data‑driven recommendations.
Lead work streams, manage engagement priorities, and prepare client‑ready deliverables.
Coach and mentor junior staff.
Build client relationships and expand business scope.
Support marketing initiatives and pitch preparations.
Qualifications General Skills:
High energy with a passion for healthcare and complex problem‑solving.
12+ years of experience in healthcare with a MedTech focus (commercial, engineering, operations, finance). Consulting and industry experience preferred.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in Visio, Tableau/PowerBI, SQL, SPSS, benchmarking a plus.
Strong project‑management and organizational skills.
Solid understanding of M&A processes.
Working knowledge of MedTech industry value chain and manufacturing cost structures.
Prior experience with private‑equity firms.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to travel as required.
BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare management or related fields.
Commercial Skills:
Familiarity with pricing structures, GPO/IDN agreements, group purchasing and contracting.
Understanding of commercial channels (ASCs, hospitals, home‑health, etc.).
Knowledge of sales compensation structures.
High‑level understanding of Medicare and managed‑care landscape.
Knowledge of product profitability analyses.
Operational Skills:
Familiarity with manufacturing processes, distribution networks, S&OP, warehousing/3PL models.
Understanding of manufacturing standards and costing methodologies.
Knowledge of inventory management strategies.
Analytical experience with vendor consolidation.
Insight into insource vs. outsourcing models.
