Brief description Position background The 4As is the voice of the agency community across America. The global ad industry is set to pass $1 trillion in spend this year. The U.S. is set to have $491 billion of that spend, representing 20% of U.S. GDP. To be the voice of the industry is a real and unique honor. Our work stands for shaping the direction of the industry through advocacy, research, and leadership. Over its 108‑year history, the 4As has evolved from reacting to member organization needs to setting agendas, representing a broad agency community, and amplifying constituents’ voices in a complex ecosystem of brands, platforms, creators, technology solutions, and clients.
Position overview As SVP of Growth, you will lead 4As member acquisition efforts focused on agency membership growth. In this role, you will develop and execute data‑driven member acquisition strategies that drive growth and hit key success metrics. You will be a strategic thinker, capable of building and implementing sales strategies, with expertise in data analysis, CRM systems, and sales operations. You’ll be a proactive, detail‑oriented go‑getter comfortable wearing multiple hats, opening doors, building pipelines, and driving opportunities across the organization.
Position Responsibilities
Prospecting • Develop and implement a prospecting framework to drive revenue growth, leveraging data analysis and market insights. • Drive sales pipeline development in partnership with the EVP of Growth, defining cohesive region targets. • Lead initiatives to acquire new members through cold outreach, networking events, and industry conferences. • Foster and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers in target agencies. • Collaborate with marketing to implement joint go‑to‑market strategies.
Pre‑Sales/Post‑Sales • Identify and pitch qualified agency prospects into membership. • Craft compelling value propositions for key roles at prospect members (Finance, HR, New Business, Media, etc.) and regularly pitch “Why 4As Membership”. • Engage 4As subject matter experts for member development and referrals. • Onboard new members to their regional relationship lead post‑application. • Oversee billing, invoicing, and CRM provisioning for each new member. • Collaborate with marketing to develop top‑notch sales collateral, presentations, and proposals.
Sales Forecasting and Strategic Reporting • Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market insights to leadership. • Continuously analyze and refine strategies based on performance data and market feedback. • Track all prospecting activity via CRM sales system.
Sales Strategy • Co‑architect the organization’s overarching revenue strategy. • Establish and maintain a clear revenue trajectory, including forecasting and performance analysis. • Collaborate with Member Services to identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities. • Partner with Product to translate market needs and commercial opportunities into actionable insights. • Execute strategy across membership categories (Independent, Core Products & Services, Advanced Products & Services, Non‑members accessing 4As products).
Position Requirements
15+ years of sales experience, ideally in advertising and marketing
Track record of meeting sales targets with a strategic agenda to transform company culture toward sales adoption
Extensive network of industry contacts, able to engage C‑level executives and decision‑makers
Ability to drive sales deeply into company culture
Experience working with remote teams and diverse market sizes
Outstanding negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce), data analysis, and sales operations
Familiarity with surveys, events, research, campaigns, and all marketing areas
Deep understanding of the advertising industry and continuous learning of new developments
Highly organized, able to juggle multiple priorities at the VERY HIGHEST level
Ability to work independently
Willingness to travel occasionally for meetings and events
Role may be based in any major U.S. advertising market. Preferred: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas, or other U.S. locations.
