Residential Security Manager – Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts
About the role: The Security Manager leads the implementation and management of Residential Security, Health & Safety, Life, Fire & Safety programs and operations, and trains the security and residential teams. Must be hands‑on, providing leadership and direction to motivate and ensure smooth operation of the Residences. Acts as Manager on Duty and part of the Emergency Response team, supervising overnight staff as needed. What You Will Do
Implement and maintain a Health and Safety Management system including maintaining safety statements, risk assessments and appropriate training Schedule, discipline and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures Take an active role in the development and implementation of the property's fire and emergency plan, Fire and Emergency Response preparedness plan and all related training including conducting regular fire drills Build a documentation process for all incidents occurring in the Residences in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements; remain objective and write comprehensive reports; advise and recommend control measures appropriate to incidents or events; direct and/or assist in internal and external investigations Guide employees in handling unusual resident or employee issues, such as disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters Control and maintain order of systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm, and fire protection systems, and establish escalation plans for system faults in a timely manner Respond properly to all types of emergency or safety situations Manage and supervise day‑to‑day security staff to ensure safety and security of residents, employees, personnel and property Liaise between the Residential Division and supporting hotel/HUB leaders to ensure timely execution of residential business at the highest standards Direct all employees in implementing security processes and policies to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure and liability Create and implement all security and safety policies, including crisis management and parking procedures Recommend preventive safety and security measures to protect the Residences' reputation; investigate crimes against the property, homeowners, and employees Conduct key audit and control tasks to ensure compliance with local legislation, as entrusted by the Engineering Manager What You Bring
Fluent in English, written and verbal; additional language skills an asset Previous administration of persons in lifesaving or property protection situations Ability to obtain required certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, fire prevention/fighting, crowd control, or other licenses required by the District of Columbia Previous police/security experience with preferred NEBOSH, IOSH, or CPP certification A valid full driver’s license is required Pool safety training Ability to communicate security concepts to diverse audiences Experience in business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management Ability to build consensus in a diverse operational environment Broad knowledge of engineering and security systems What We Offer
