Senior Director, Product Management – Commercial Excellence
Join Bain & Company’s Commercial Excellence Practice as a senior leader responsible for building AI & technology products that advance client outcomes and business growth.
WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH You’ll join the Product, Practice and Knowledge (PPK) group as part of the Commercial Excellence Practice. The Senior Director of Product Management leads a cross‑functional team in building AI/tech products and collaborates closely with Vector and the Core Innovation Team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO AI / tech strategy and leadership
Own the outcome‑based roadmap for AI/tech products, grounded in client/user needs and technical constraints.
Stay on top of industry and technology trends, balancing build/buy/partner decisions.
Lead discovery efforts to validate hypothesis and turn Bain IP into tangible products.
Mentor a team of product managers, building a high‑performance culture.
Define and execute quarterly OKRs, measure progress, and make decisions on backlog, positioning, budgeting, pricing, and GTM strategy.
Delivery and execution
Drive AI/tech innovation through the product lifecycle: ideate, discover, test, learn, scale, evolve, and collect continuous feedback.
Deliver cross‑product strategic initiatives and report outcomes to senior leadership.
Draft business plans for new innovations to secure internal funding, demonstrating ROI.
Ensure consistency with firmwide best practices related to data governance and infrastructure.
Lead demos and establish credibility with client CTOs/CDAOs.
Advisory and collaboration
Collaborate closely with the Global Solution Leader to develop 3‑year strategy and technical roadmap.
Make build/buy/partner decisions and deliver client‑valued offerings.
Drive consulting revenue and growth for the solution, sharing best practices across Bain.
ABOUT YOU
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, technology, or a relevant field.
8‑10 years of product experience.
Deep product intuition with a bias for validation and iteration.
Experience building products related to the Commercial Excellence Solution.
Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
Strong storytelling skills – rally teams, align stakeholders, inspire users.
Experience building with LLMs or other AI tools.
Additional skills and experience
Structure and lead complex business research and analysis in fast‑paced environments.
Work closely with users to translate needs into roadmaps and specifications.
Familiarity with agile product development for digital technologies.
Proven track record of building AI/tech products from ideation to market fit and scaling.
Experience or interest in digital solutions as a lever to drive business results.
Passion for learning new technologies and trends.
Advanced facilitation skills for consensus building.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Leadership of diverse teams with varied expertise.

U.S. COMPENSATION INFORMATION Compensation includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution, and Bain’s benefits package.
Salary ranges (good‑faith, reasonable annualized full‑time):
Texas: $188,500–230,500
Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, and Washington State: $206,500–252,500
Atlanta: $179,500–219,500
Chicago: $197,500–241,500
New York City, San Francisco, Silicon Valley CA: $224,500–274,500
Other benefits: 4.5% 401(k) company contribution (increasing after 3 years), annual discretionary performance bonus, paid life and long‑term disability insurance, annual fitness reimbursement, and 100% premium coverage for employee medical/dental/vision insurance.
