Job Overview Network Engineer – McLean, VA.

Location & Clearance

Mclean, VA

Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (existing clearance required to start)

Responsibilities

Support customer data communications network by maintaining hardware/software and ensuring availability for all users.

Perform maintenance, lead network builds, and deployments in mission‑critical Intelligence Community environments.

Design, install, and test network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and SD‑WAN technologies (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, etc.).

Conduct routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting; install and maintain cabling systems.

Identify and resolve network infrastructure issues; implement network upgrades and manage large‑scale enterprise networks across on‑prem LAN and cloud platforms.

Apply network monitoring, scripting, and automation; generate weekly activity reports.

Occasionally perform off‑hours maintenance and support multiple DMV locations.

Apply strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, collaborating with technical and non‑technical users.

Qualifications

7 years with a Bachelor’s degree in an IT field, or 5 years with a Master’s, or 8 years with an Associate’s.

CCNA or CCNP certification.

Azure network knowledge (hub‑spoke topology, VNets, NSGs, Route Tables, peering, route propagation).

Experience with AWS, Google, or Oracle cloud.

Knowledge of Azure premium firewall policies and network security practices.

Experience designing/implementing network infrastructure and routing on global WANs with Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar.

Experience with network management systems such as Cisco ISE and Junos Space.

Automation skills using Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.

Strong network security knowledge and ability to create firewall rules.

Strong communication and public speaking skills; ability to estimate work efforts accurately.

Must be on client site during core hours 0900–1500.

Nice to Have

Terraform Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Background in Insider Threat programs.

Familiarity with DevOps concepts and practices.

Salary: $88,000 – $130,900 (Washington, DC) or $114,000 – $145,000 (Bethesda, MD) or $79,648 – $132,746 (McLean, VA). Location determined by assignment.
