Software Developer 3
Oracle is looking for a Software Developer 3 to join the OCI Compute Core Architecture team. The role focuses on designing and building new microservices to support the growing compute infrastructure demands across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Responsibilities
Lead engineering efforts to develop the Compute state machine infrastructure for efficiency and scalability.
Take an active role in defining and evolving standard practices and procedures.
Develop high‑quality components to enable a resilient and maintainable service that can scale to the growing needs of the business.
Design, build, and incubate new microservices based solutions that address large scale distributed system challenges.
Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience designing and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
Proficiency with Java programming patterns and Cloud‑based data store primitives.
Expertise in Linux and operating systems.
Systematic problem‑solving approach with strong communication skills, ownership and drive.
Deep understanding of service metrics and alarms through dashboards, KPIs and alarming systems.
Design and direct automation, optimizations and enhancements for distributed services.
Preferred: proficiency with Cloud CI/CD environments, Terraform, Docker and modern build pipelines.
