Tax Director
Position Overview
The Tax Director will oversee the company's tax strategy and compliance, ensuring that all tax obligations are met while maximizing tax efficiencies. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge in various tax domains to manage the tax planning process and lead a team of tax professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement tax strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
Manage corporate tax compliance, including federal, state, and international tax obligations.
Oversee tax planning and tax research to identify opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing guidance and support in their development.
Coordinate and manage tax audits and the preparation of tax returns.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and advise senior management accordingly.
Prepare and review financial reporting related to tax matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Develop transfer pricing policies and documentation in accordance with legal requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and strategy, with a focus on corporate and international tax.
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations, as well as international tax concepts.
Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in developing and mentoring staff.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and manage risk.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
