Sales Director – Great Lakes Region (Michigan)

CRH, a leading cement manufacturer, seeks an experienced Sales Director to lead and grow sales across the Great Lakes region. The role is full‑time and based at our Michigan office.
Overview The Director of Sales & Marketing supervises all sales operations within the assigned region, driving revenue, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute sales strategies to maximize profitability and increase market share.
Maintain personal contact with key accounts; participate in client site visits and networking events.
Define sales territories, marketing policies, promotions, and product revisions.
Control sales expenditures, ensuring efficient use of travel and entertainment expenses.
Prepare and revise sales forecasts and maintain accurate sales information and statistics.
Collaborate with Technical Services Manager to resolve customer complaints and improve service delivery.
Coordinate with management on pricing strategy, prepare price quotation bids, and direct work sales agreements.
Lead and motivate a regional sales team, establishing goals, evaluating performance, and recommending merit increases and promotions.
Maintain awareness of industry trends through professional associations, seminars, and workshops.
Develop and maintain competitive intelligence; communicate findings to senior leadership.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4 years’ degree in management, sales, marketing, business administration, or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible sales and/or marketing experience in the cement, ready‑mix, or related construction industry.
Strong knowledge of marketing, sales, promotion, distribution, and customer service.
Proven ability to lead, manage, and negotiate; make independent judgments with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to maintain confidential information with discretion.
Experience in the cement, concrete, or construction industry preferred but not required.
Ability to travel for customer visits and site inspections.
Work Environment The position is based in an indoor, climate‑controlled office; travel to customer sites and CRH locations is required.
