TITLE:

Accounting Manager

SALARY:

$140–$150k + bonus potential up to 15%

LOCATION:

Culver City/Inglewood (4 days in office, remote on Fridays)

SYSTEMS:

Oracle Fusion (ERP), Oracle EPM

Role Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations, with an emphasis on lease and real estate accounting. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, optimizing workflows, and supporting strategic initiatives across the organization. Working directly with the VP, Controller, this person will operate in a fast-moving environment and should bring strong technical accounting expertise—especially within multi-unit business structures.

Primary Responsibilities

Lease Accounting Leadership:

Oversee all aspects of lease accounting from initial agreement through termination, ensuring full compliance with ASC 842.

Real Estate Partnership:

Act as the primary accounting point of contact for the Real Estate team, managing lease administration, payment accuracy, and landlord reconciliations.

General Ledger Management:

Direct month-end close functions tied to lease activity and designated GL areas, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Process Optimization:

Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement technology-driven enhancements that increase accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.

Support for Multi-Unit Operations:

Navigate the accounting complexities of a multi-location, multi-entity business model, particularly around leases and location-level activity.

Reporting & Audit Support:

Assist with both internal and external audits and contribute to the creation of financial statements and management reports.

Cross-Department Coordination:

Work collaboratively with teams across Real Estate, Legal, Operations, and IT to ensure accurate data flow and aligned processes.

Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience; a blend of public accounting and in-house roles is preferred.

Industry Background:

Familiarity with multi-unit sectors such as retail, hospitality, or restaurant environments.

Technical Expertise:

Advanced understanding of GAAP, particularly ASC 842 lease standards.

Systems Knowledge:

Skilled with major ERP platforms, specifically Oracle Fusion and Oracle EPM; strong Excel proficiency is essential.

Professional Attributes:

Organized, analytical, and detail-focused with a strong ability to diagnose issues and drive solutions.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA is strongly preferred.
