Part-Time Electrical Engineer - Principal Level Join Enercon Services, Inc. as a Part-Time Principal Electrical Engineer. We seek experienced Electrical Engineers at the Principal level to contribute expertise on a flexible, part‑time basis—averaging 30 hours or less per week—while driving innovation and reliability across the energy sector.

Responsibilities Our engineers collaborate with interdisciplinary partners and coordinate with diverse engineering teams to ensure project success. Typical duties include:

Collaborate Across Disciplines: act as the bridge between engineering teams, ensuring seamless integration and coordination across all project disciplines.

Shape Project Success: develop innovative design studies, define project scopes, and create accurate engineering estimates to drive project excellence.

Master Procurement & Installation: draft detailed specifications for electrical equipment, evaluate technical bids, and select top‑tier solutions to meet project needs.

Perform Precision Calculations: execute essential electrical calculations that form the foundation of successful designs and installations.

Think Creatively: bring fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to solve complex technical challenges and push projects forward.

Be Hands‑On in the Field: travel to project sites, conduct walkdowns, oversee installations, and support start‑up activities to ensure quality and compliance.

Lead & Inspire Teams: foster a positive, goal‑oriented environment with your motivational leadership style, empowering teams to achieve success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Experience in engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (chemical or pulp & paper), and DOE government projects.

Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems.

Proficiency in preparing electrical calculations.

Ability to make recommendations based on knowledge and experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.

Capability to serve as an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.

Preference for candidates with mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early‑to mid‑career engineers.

Must be able to perform plant walkdowns and obtain a nuclear facility badge.

Pay Range USD $90,000.00 – USD $177,450.00 per year.

Salary Range Information

When a salary range is listed, it reflects the typical range for this full‑time position based on role, level, and location. Individual compensation within the range will be determined by factors such as work location, relevant experience, job‑related skills, and education or training.

Eligibility to Work

Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship.

Ability to pass pre‑employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client‑specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.
