About The Role

Claims Management: Lead the end‑to‑end handling of claims across Financial Lines, including E&O, D&O, and other Casualty products.

Coverage Analysis: Identify, analyze, and resolve coverage issues under relevant policy forms; communicate coverage positions clearly and professionally to insureds, brokers, and MGAs.

Collaborate with Legal: Work with the legal team to manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, including participation in mediations and settlement conferences.

Exposure Assessment: Conduct thorough investigations and evaluations of liability and damages, particularly on high‑severity claims; recommend and set appropriate reserves within authority.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner effectively with internal underwriting, actuarial, and legal teams, as well as external brokers, TPAs, and clients, to ensure alignment and transparency.

Managerial Oversight of TPAs: Direct claims activity with our Third‑Party Administrator, overseeing investigations, documentation, coverage, and liability.

Customer Service Excellence: Deliver responsive, thoughtful, and solution‑oriented service to insureds and distribution partners throughout the claims lifecycle.

Travel: Attend mediations, trials, and settlement conferences as needed.

Drive Technical Excellence: Control indemnity and expense loss through timely and appropriate reserving and ultimate resolution claim closure.

Collaborate with Claims Legal to control litigation costs and coordinate legal strategy and trial preparation.

Communicate with all internal business partners, including underwriters, to ensure underwriting is aware of large losses and industry trends.

Maintain internal claims best practices related to file management, ensuring accurate and organized internal claims documentation for all Claims, Data, Complaints, Denials & Reservation of Rights, Large Losses, and Large Loss tracking.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of claims handling experience, with a strong background in Financial Lines, particularly E&O and D&O.

Prior experience in a carrier or legal environment is essential.

Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage relationships with sophisticated clients and brokers.

Strong team orientation with a collaborative mindset.
