Senior Accountant The Senior Accountant plays a critical role within the Accounting Department and is responsible for the Month‑End Financial close including preparing monthly journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, financial analyses, system controls, and management reports. Additionally, the role assists with the annual budget and audit processes and performs other accounting duties as assigned.

This position reports to the Accounting Manager and collaborates with the Finance, Operations, and other cross‑functional teams.

Job Roles

Support month‑ and year‑end close process by preparing and reviewing journal entries and ensuring accuracy of financial statements.

Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, providing audit query documentation upon request.

Work closely with the Finance team to ensure proper general ledger coding of standard and non‑standard transactions.

Conduct monthly variance analysis against budget and identify variance causes and trends.

Drive process improvement and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on projects and support other business initiatives.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

5 years of accounting experience.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA certification.

Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Healthcare accounting experience.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and technical accounting skills.

Independent work style with minimal supervision, strong multitasking, time‑management and deadline‑prioritizing abilities.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex accounting issues across all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in General Ledger systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel). Ability to adapt to changing system dynamics.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills, applicable to a non‑profit healthcare environment.

Positive attitude and professional demeanor. Dedicated team player willing to assist in other department areas as needed.

Compensation Range $58,000.00 - $84,000.00 (base salary). This range reflects minimum qualifications; final compensation will consider education, experience, skills, certifications, and market competitiveness.
