Senior Accountant
– Compunnel Inc. – Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, performing general ledger reconciliations, developing financial analyses, and supporting tax filings, budgeting, audit processes, and internal controls. Provides supervisory support to Staff Accountants and contributes to GAAP‑compliant financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide guidance, oversight, and training to Staff Accountant(s) on daily accounting tasks and monthly close activities.
Prepare month‑end journal entries and reconciliations.
Review and post journal entries submitted by hospital departments.
Perform account analysis for assigned accounts: cash, receivables, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, fixed assets, accrued expenses, etc.
Prepare monthly variance analysis for assigned account units.
Assist in developing and enforcing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure GAAP compliance.
Partner with hospital departments to implement consistent accounting practices.
Collaborate with Financial Information Systems (FIS) on accounting system updates and maintenance.
Support onboarding and ongoing training of accounting team members.
Participate in year‑end audit processes and assist with budget development.
Promote teamwork, professional communication, and compliance with BMC’s RESPECT values.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance preferred)
3–5 years of accounting experience
Master’s + 2 years may be considered
Experience supervising or directing staff preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP (non‑profit / healthcare preferred)
Strong analytical and reconciliation abilities
Proficiency with general ledger systems (Lawson preferred)
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Team‑oriented mindset with desire to learn and grow
