Job Overview
Review and interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings/specifications.
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs for structural steel, misc. metals, connections, coatings, and erection labor.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing for materials, coatings, freight, and specialty items.
Develop accurate cost models and build competitive bids based on labor, material, equipment, schedule, and project risks.
Coordinate with project management and operations to verify production rates, erection approaches, and fabrication capacity.
What you need
2+ years in steel estimating
Tekla experience (preferred but not essential)
