Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Engineer/Security Architect to join our mission‑focused team supporting federal government clients. The ideal candidate will provide expert‑level network security architecture, design, and implementation services while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements. The candidate must be well‑versed in emerging cyber threat intelligence and emerging technical stacks, to include secure cloud infrastructure, secure AI integration, and leading high performing teams across DevSecOps environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain secure network and cyber architectures for federal government clients

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure security requirements are met

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members

Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies

Present security solutions and recommendations to client stakeholders

Own the cyber innovation and emerging technology strategy

Create thought leadership collateral aligned to the AFS Cyber vision and strategy

Required Qualifications

Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance

DC Metro (Will require hybrid on‑site support in Arlington, VA)

Minimum 15+ years of experience focused on cybersecurity engineering and providing Federal clients innovative technical solutions

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field

Extensive hands‑on technical expertise in network security architecture and implementation of secure cloud (and hybrid) infrastructures

Extensive experience with anomaly detection and analysis of emerging cyber threats/vulnerabilities across various technical stacks, to include: networks, operating systems, mobile devices, and critical infrastructure systems

Ability to evaluate commercial cyber products and make recommendations

Working knowledge of Federal Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Release to Manufacturing (RTM) & channel programs (Distribution, Value Added Reseller (VARs), Cloud Service Providers, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), etc.)

Proven track record of developing and implementing security solutions for complex environments

Experience with security frameworks including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP

Demonstrated cyber leadership capabilities to accelerate growth across the federal government

Proven results of expanding cyber leadership capabilities that have accelerated growth

Broad personal network and relationships across the Federal ecosystem

Familiarity with building Managed Security Services Strategy and Go to Market

Demonstrated support to Federal programs like TIC 3.0, CDM, PDNS, SCCA, CNAP

Desired Certifications/Skills

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Strong communication skills with ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders

Required Technical Skills

Enterprise network security architecture and design

Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platforms

Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAAP) platforms

Extended Detection Response (XDR/EDR) platforms

Operational Technology/Critical infrastructure security

Network access control; Protective DNS

Security information and event management (SIEM)

Cloud security architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP)

Zero Trust security principles

Network segmentation and micro‑segmentation

As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of

California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Vermont, the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland . The base pay range for this position in these locations is $186,300—$360,800 USD.
