ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Promote the facility mission, vision, and values by effectively communicating them to others. Consider mission, vision, and values when developing services, standards, and practices.

Draft complex letters, contracts, and instruments independently.

Manage complex regulatory compliance matters that pose significant risk to the organization.

Regularly consult with senior management on matters within your legal expertise.

Adapt professional staff and documents to changes in regulations, laws, and client practices.

Provide support to General Counsel and coordinate to meet deadlines through appropriate planning and communication.

Independently manage select portions of complex projects and coordinate work with other attorneys to deliver timely results.

Use appropriate judgment when to seek assistance from supervisors, General Counsel, or outside counsel.

Communicate with clients at an appropriate level of technical detail.

Supervise and judiciously engage outside counsel when required.

Maintain knowledge of laws, codes, court procedures, precedents, and regulations.

Draft, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents.

Write and administer vendor, client, and employment contracts.

Perform other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Experience in analyzing and advising on Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Law, and other federal and state healthcare compliance matters. Draft complex agreements and related legal documents.

Excellent academic credentials with strong writing, communication, strategic problem‑solving, and leadership skills.

Work independently and cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment and influence senior leadership.

Serve as a strategic thought partner for the Legal COE and the business.

Manage complex areas of law for the Legal COE; conduct root‑cause analysis and drive process improvement.

Manage and schedule work assignments for a team.

Strong negotiation, presentation, and legal research skills.

Maintain confidentiality and ethical behavior.

Think strategically, make sound decisions, and facilitate business and legal advice under time pressure.

Solution‑oriented team player with a commitment to client satisfaction.

Handle multiple complex responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining high quality.

Proficiency with contractual terms and conditions.

Understand Medicare Advantage risk‑based primary care and applicable laws and regulations.

Exhaustive problem‑solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Excellent time management, cross‑functional collaboration, and internal team coordination.

Knowledgeable of applicable laws, codes, court procedures, precedents, regulations, and executive orders.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel); familiarity with Linksquares or ServiceNow an advantage.

Fluent in English, spoken and written.

Requires less than 10% national travel.

Requires independent judgment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Admission to at least one U.S. State Bar in good standing.

Minimum five (5) years of legal experience focusing on a relevant area (e.g., Health Care law). Previous in‑house counsel experience is a plus.

Experience in Stark Law, Anti‑Kickback Law, and other federal and state healthcare compliance matters; drafting complex agreements and handling employment and labor law actions. Experience with EEOC, FMLA, ADA, DOL, FLSA is a plus.

Deep knowledge or experience in intellectual property law, labor and employment law, health care law, mergers and acquisition in the healthcare field, transactional law, corporate law, or real estate law.

Experience managing outside legal resources cost‑effectively.

Current with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses and proactive about staying informed.

PAY RANGE $124,938 – $178,483 Salary.
