Senior
Commodity Manager to develop commodity strategies for current and future programs, source and qualify vendors, negotiate pricing, and place purchase orders to fulfill demand. Ensure the smooth and cost‑efficient material flow to support our operations.
Develop and execute supply chain project plans for assigned new product development projects.
Manage all aspects of assigned commodities – commodity strategies, market conditions, technology roadmaps, and should‑cost creation.
Manage a supply base that meets Singer’s Cost, Quality, and Delivery targets.
Work in a cross‑functional team environment as a strong team player and demonstrate ability to work with other functional groups to achieve company‑wide goals.
Mentor or assist junior commodity managers/buyers.
What You’ll Do
Be responsible for issuance of RFQs.
Manage supplier relationships and performance to achieve program milestones and customer requirements.
Be accountable for ensuring accuracy of part master data within MRP.
Generate purchase requisitions and place purchase orders with suppliers to meet demand.
Support issuing RFI, RFP, RFQ, PO placement and other purchasing activities as needed.
Who We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
Seven (7) plus years of experience as Buyer, Purchasing Agent, Purchasing Specialist, GSM or equivalent.
Proven ability to onboard and contract pricing agreements with suppliers.
Knowledge of procurement strategies, should‑cost models and technology roadmaps.
Bonus points if you come from a rapid growth environment and/or automotive/aerospace.
A true team player with a positive attitude.
Strong ability to coach and lead team members within the department.
Location & Schedule Onsite at our headquarters in Torrance, CA. Salary‑exempt role, general schedule 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
