Regional Business Leader, Sleep Disorders - New York City Join Takeda as the Regional Business Leader, Sleep Disorders, where you will execute business strategies to launch a first‑in‑class orexin therapy for narcolepsy type 1 and build & lead a high‑performing sales team.

Responsibilities

Lead the compliant execution of business strategies to deliver or exceed sales expectations at regional and area level.

Effectively recruit, hire, and coach a team of sales representatives to achieve exceptional performance.

Translate the broader vision to the team, fostering a high‑performance culture that values results, accountability, and development.

Create an environment of learning and growth, maintain talent retention, and partner with Human Resources and Commercial Learning & Development for ongoing development opportunities.

Provide consistent, accurate expectations and timely feedback through advanced coaching techniques and actionable development plans, identifying performance gaps and creating action plans.

Prioritize field coaching, elevate selling skills, manage territory strategically, and lead by example in compliance with Takeda’s speak‑up culture.

Implement all dimensions of marketing strategies on a regional level, managing key resources including speaker programs to meet quarterly and yearly objectives.

Develop and execute the regional sales plan and lead the creation of representative plans to ensure objectives are met.

Analyze region and territory performance to identify growth opportunities and improve effectiveness.

Strategically allocate and utilize the sales budget to drive business growth.

Build and maintain knowledge of key region KOLs, sleep centers, and institutions.

Command the payor landscape, leveraging reimbursement insights to grow business.

Work collaboratively with field partners (patient services, medical, managed markets, etc.) to achieve goals.

Plan and conduct POA/launch meetings in line with marketing plans.

Leverage AI and digital tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Communicate consistently across RBL team, sales leadership, and internal partners, sharing insights and direction.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree – BS/BA

5+ years of management‑level experience with a proven track record in pharmaceutical, biologic, biotech, or medical device industries, including district management, specialty account management, marketing, training, or product management.

Prior experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative with a proven sales record.

Demonstrated strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities and adapt to market changes.

Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and motivate a sales team providing timely feedback.

Ability to analyze complex data to develop strategic and actionable plans.

Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Comfortable with emerging technologies, adaptable to digital tools, and open to AI‑enabled processes.

Must reside in or near the assigned geography.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master’s Degree

3+ years of people leadership experience

Experience selling or leading teams in the rare disease space

Sleep Disorders experience

Pharmaceutical product launch experience

Licenses / Certifications

Valid driver’s license

Travel Requirements

Travel 50–75% to support the region, including overnights.

Ability to drive or fly to meetings and trainings.

Compensation & Benefits U.S. base salary range: $175,200 – $240,900 per year. Employees may be eligible for short‑term and/or long‑term incentives.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time, and 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
