Walgreens is hiring a Pharmacy Operations Manager. This full‑time position is located in Key West, FL and involves both leadership and hands‑on pharmacy duties. The seller will maintain a high‑quality customer experience while overseeing staff and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

Accountable for day‑to‑day non‑clinical pharmacy operations under state and federal regulations.

Oversee pharmacy systems for patient data, prescription processing and electronic records.

Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

Lead hiring, scheduling, training, coaching and performance management of technician staff.

Engage customers, greet patients, resolve complaints, and promote services.

Assist pharmacists with patient care: registration, data entry, medication preparation, counting, verification, and vaccination administration.

Delegate non‑clinical work, maintain workflow, and hold staff accountable for timely completion.

Prepare reports and records required by the company and regulatory agencies.

Drive pharmacy workflow excellence, coordinate schedules, recommend staffing hours, and keep the department clean and stocked.

Manage inventory, financials, and pharmacy metrics; support Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in financial reviews.

Implement new technology and process changes; champion continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with Good Faith Dispensing, asset‑protection techniques, and safety protocols.

Communicate errors, insurance claims, and audit findings to pharmacists and management.

Coordinate community outreach, immunization clinics, and partnership events.

Assist with licensure, registration, and certification oversight for staff.

People & Performance Management

Lead discipline and termination decisions following constructive discipline policy.

Hold technicians accountable for attendance, timeliness, and training completion.

Identify and address knowledge gaps through coaching, hands‑on training, or learning modules.

Maintain proper hiring, onboarding, and certification records per company policy.

Training & Personal Development

Maintain PTCB certification and any state‑required licensing.

Complete required internal training such as LTMP e‑modules.

Pursue professional development and seek feedback from supervisors.

Communication

Relay messages from support centers and key emails to pharmacy team.

Participate in store/pharmacy meetings and weekly check‑ins with the Store Manager.

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).

Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or hospital setting.

Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Ability to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except for specific locations).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous people‑management or leadership experience.

Previous Walgreens experience with Exceeding Expectation performance rating.

This position will remain open until filled. We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. We provide pay transparency: the salary range is $22.50 per hour – $31.00 per hour, with actual pay dependent on experience, education, and location.
