is a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Unit that cares for patients with gastrointestinal and liver diseases and pre‑transplant patients. Common diagnoses include Crohn’s disease, colitis, gastroparesis, gastrointestinal bleeding, pancreatitis, liver failure, complex multi‑organ failure, nausea and sepsis.
Shift Details:
Night shift, 7:00 pm—7:30 am (36 hours per week, 12‑hour shifts). Works every other weekend/holiday.
Responsibilities
Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to plan revisions.
Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
Perform routine laboratory tests.
Educate patients and family members.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
One year of patient care experience.
Physical Requirements
Requires full‑body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye‑hand coordination.
Involves extensive standing and walking.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $23.25 Maximum hourly: $33.50 The pay range displayed on this posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined after considering factors such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package.
