Position Summary / Department Summary Brief Overview
Physician Assistant Opening in Plastic and Oral Surgery Department supporting Plastic Surgeons and Oral and Maxillofacial (OMFS) Surgeons.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages and with all types of conditions
Elicit histories, perform examinations, perform and interpret diagnostic studies
Perform therapeutic procedures, instruct and counsel patients about their diagnosis
Respond to clinical needs, and facilitate the appropriate referral of patients, consistent with his or her supervising physician’s scope of expertise and responsibility and delegated to him/her by the supervising physician
Perform and/or assist with intravenous sedations in the office‑based setting
Provide all aspects of pre‑operative and post‑operative care, as well as first or second assisting during surgery
Working mainly in the Boston and Waltham locations with the possibility of travel to other satellite locations
Schedule is 40 hours per week: 4, 10‑hour shifts Monday through Friday
Minimum Qualifications Education
Masters in Physician Assistant Studies
Experience
The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of an accredited Physician Assistant’s program
The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross‑functional experience‑based knowledge
Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediated fair solutions, and well‑developed writing skills
A strong interest in and understanding of the Plastic and Oral Surgery disciplines strongly preferred
Licensure / Certifications
A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant
Compensation Base pay range: $60.00/hr – $96.28/hr.
