Director of Software Engineering
for our client, a fast‑growing technology company! This is a wonderful full‑time, direct‑hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.
What you’ll be doing:
Technical Strategy & Vision: Define and champion the long‑term technical strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs. Drive innovation, best practices, and forward‑looking decisions that strengthen platform scalability, security, and reliability.
Architecture & Systems Design: Lead architectural planning to support sustainable growth, high performance, and maintainability. Set standards for system design that balance immediate product needs with long‑term technical health.
Product Development & Delivery: Oversee end‑to‑end software development, ensuring on‑time, high‑quality delivery of features and enhancements. Optimize development processes through agile methodologies, automation, and continuous integration.
Leadership & Talent Development: Build, coach, and retain a high‑performing engineering organization. Cultivate an inclusive and collaborative environment where engineers at all levels can grow and do their best work.
Resource & Budget Stewardship: Allocate budgets, staffing, and technical resources effectively. Make data‑driven decisions around hiring, tooling, and infrastructure to maximize ROI and support scalable growth.
Risk, Security & Compliance: Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and operational risks. Ensure all engineering practices meet industry standards for compliance, data protection, and security.
Qualifications:
Proven Engineering Leadership: 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of modern software architectures, cloud platforms (AWS), scalable systems, and best practices in security, reliability, and performance. Experience Go and React preferred.
Product & Delivery Management: Experience leading end‑to‑end software development, including agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and high‑quality product delivery. Familiarity with Jira for workflow and project management.
Budget & Resource Management: Experience managing engineering budgets and resources efficiently, optimizing for ROI.
Preferred:
Experience in SaaS or platform‑based companies, preferably with multi‑tenant or large‑scale distributed systems.
Exposure to AI, machine learning, or hybrid human/AI platforms.
Compensation: Base compensation is estimated between $180,000 and $200,000 annually, depending on experience, plus bonus.
