Position Summary The BD Excellence Office (BDEO) ISC Lead is responsible for implementing and optimizing lean methodologies to support the deployment of process excellence across the ISC organization. This role partners with the global ISC team to ensure the successful integration of best‑in‑class tools and processes that drive continuous improvement. The individual will lead and support Kaizen events, facilitate training initiatives, and collaborate with leadership to align efforts with business objectives while effectively addressing barriers. The position reports to the Sr Director, BDEO ISC and focuses on delivering dynamic process improvements that enable critical business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

BD Excellence Roadmap and Initiatives

Support the development and execution of the BDEO roadmap, ensuring alignment with ISC’s strategic priorities.

Coordinate and/or lead specific end‑to‑end Kaizen events and initiatives to achieve the organization’s targeted performance improvement.

Tool and Process Development

Partner with leaders and experts to develop a comprehensive BD Excellence toolkit to address critical business needs.

Emphasize visual management, problem‑solving, and Kaizen methodologies to drive BD Excellence in the assigned areas.

Design, deploy, and supervise foundational tools and processes aimed at enhancing the ISC organization aligned with BDEO standards.

Become a certified practitioner in problem‑solving and kaizen methodology and apply tools as a facilitator of problem‑solving/kaizen sessions.

Change Management and Education

Be a change champion in the development and deployment of BD Excellence tools and approach, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Drive BD Excellence education by providing broad coaching and training sessions to associates at all levels in partnership with the BD Excellence Learning and Development team.

Be an expert in the BD Excellence fundamentals of Visual Management (VM), Problem Solving Process (PSP), and Kaizen.

Support the development and rollout of Advanced Practitioner and Certified Practitioner programs to build internal expertise.

Create and maintain reference materials and templates for associates to leverage during and after training sessions.

Barrier Removal and Continuous Improvement

Serve as a champion to overcome barriers by addressing issues promptly and effectively.

Do not hesitate to challenge the status quo in search of opportunities that help the business exceed goals.

Performance Monitoring and Improvement

Serve as a thought partner to the BD Excellence leadership teams, supporting the adoption and deployment of BD Excellence tools and approach.

Collaborate with key customers to achieve business objectives, including identifying and prioritizing optimal business opportunities.

Use metrics and action plans to monitor performance via metrics, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Education

University bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Technology or a related field is required.

MBA or equivalent business experience preferred.

Experience

Five (5)+ years proven experience in a company with continuous improvement culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, and kaizen.

Strong knowledge of lean or six sigma business systems is preferred. Certified practitioner in lean tools is highly desirable.

Extensive experience in a metric driven role where success is operationalized, and continuous improvement is a way of life.

Expertise in solving complex problems and transforming business performance and process through the use of data and BD Excellence tools. Proven track record of bringing order and structure to functions and organizations quickly.

Ability to effectively drive outcomes in large, matrixed organizations and understands how to navigate geographies, cultures, and relationships.

Successful change agent; ability to make the case for lean, demonstrate immediate impact and drive cultural change within and across the organization. Demonstrated ability to gain followership and get results through change in a matrix organization.

Strategic perspective with hands‑on approach focusing on the larger picture and ability to put together a training strategy and subsequent plan.

Strong focus on results and committed to inspiring change across the organization.

Proven ability to effectively build partnerships and take a relationship‑based approach in working with internal and external collaborators at every level of the organization to deliver process efficiencies, cost savings, minimize operational risks and increase process simplification. Comfortable with constructive conflict and debate normally associated with change.

Very strong organizational, project planning, scheduling and risk management skills and demonstrated experience using project management tools and software. Proficient in the use of all MS Office tools.

Proven ability to communicate key messages to senior leadership audiences and effectively manage key collaborators. Excellent facilitation & communication skills both in person and virtually.

Business insight and ability to display the linkage between projects and desired business results.

Be able to cast a positive attitude and evoke positive responses from others inclusive of those with conflicting priorities.

Entrepreneurial approach. Individual who can drive progress with limited oversight.

True love of continuous improvement, measuring results, and problem solving.

Ability to travel up to 60% both domestic and international required.

Preferred Knowledge and Experience

Experience in a regulated field with MedTech or Healthcare as a plus.

Experience in Manufacturing. Has spent real time on a factory floor.

Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.

Lean, Six Sigma or Business System certifications.

Experience in a role that requires extensive travel to go to Gemba.

Proven experience in supporting large initiatives and ability to influence associates at all levels.

Experience coaching and working with global teams.
