Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120‑bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults, and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and co‑occurring addictions.

Job Description The Director of Plant Operations/Safety is responsible for oversight of public utilities, security systems (alarms, access controls, etc.), HVAC systems, physical plant operations, housekeeping, dietary, and grounds landscaping, as well as managing capital projects. This individual ensures compliance with pertinent healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual work specifications; and oversees emergency facility operational initiatives and plans. In addition, this individual oversees all construction projects and any work performed by outside vendors and contractors, while ensuring all work performed meets fire and safety codes.

Responsibilities • Oversight of public utilities, security, HVAC, physical plant operations, housekeeping, dietary, and grounds landscaping.

• Management of capital projects and ensuring compliance with healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA, and contractual specifications.

• Overseeing emergency facility operational initiatives and plans.

• Managing construction projects and vendor/contractor work, ensuring adherence to fire and safety codes.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or related field

Minimum Experience: Five (5) years of facilities management or related experience, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity; experience reading blueprints and understanding Life Safety Codes, Joint Commission, regulatory standards, and OSHA regulations.

Preferred Experience: Experience in a psychiatric facility.

Required Certification/License: Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Supervises: Plant Operations Staff, Housekeeping, Dietary.
