Job Overview The
Construction Administration and QAQC Technical Manager (CAT)
is responsible for the on‑site execution of multiple large‑scale projects on behalf of CUBE 3 in the construction phase. The CAT must demonstrate construction expertise in all aspects of architecture and interiors projects, including relevant experience in CA project management. The CAT reports to the project Studio Executive or Project Manager and will act as the main point of contact on‑site for the project. The position involves reviewing or generating shop drawings, bulletins, RFIs, site visits, field reports, change orders, and other CA documents, as well as project close‑out documentation. The CAT also maintains client relationships, mentors staff, reviews construction documents for QAQC issues, and collaborates with the Director of QAQC to uphold high quality standards.
Requirements Experience and Education
Minimum of 10 years related experience in architecture and/or construction profession
Professional Associates, Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction
Delivered at least five large ground‑up buildings in Construction Administration comparable to CUBE 3‑designed similar projects
A strong understanding of local State and Municipal Building Codes
Demonstrated expertise in managing large‑scale construction projects and their respective contractors and clients
Awareness and experience with the difficult legal environment of construction
Skills
Ability to work primarily in REVIT and Bluebeam. Training will be provided commensurate with the skill level.
Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong understanding of architectural and/or interior design principles and theory associated with project design and construction materials and methods.
Major Responsibilities
Deliver projects in construction with minimal oversight
Maintain ongoing, positive and proactive client relationships, and provide regular updates to the Architect of Record and Director of QAQC
Direct activities related to construction administration, including attending Owner‑Architect‑Contractor meetings, reviewing shop drawings, conducting field observations, and processing change orders
Ensure that CA activities emphasize efficiency, quality assurance, and code compliance
Perform other duties as required
Ensure quality assurance and quality control
Collaborate with owners and contractors to solve problems under time pressure
Navigate sensitive issues
Provide periodic briefings/reports to Studio Leaders or PMs on needs, costs, and recommendations
Work with the Director of QAQC to ensure the production of complete and coordinated construction document drawing sets
Manage CA projects utilizing CUBE 3 Part3 CA Software
Additional Qualifications A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record, as required by the firm’s liability insurance carrier, must be presented and maintained.
