An elite global law firm is seeking a
mid-level Employment & Labor Associate
for its Palo Alto office. The ideal candidate will bring
broad-based experience in employment law , with an interest in
advising venture capital and investment firms
on industry-specific employment matters. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with fund formation teams on cutting‑edge employment issues in the startup and VC space.
Key Responsibilities
Provide employment counseling to venture capital and fund clients
Draft and review employment agreements, policies, and handbooks
Advise on executive compensation, terminations, and workplace policies
Support transactional teams on employment‑related diligence
Coordinate with fund formation attorneys on personnel‑related fund matters
Candidate Requirements
3–6 years of experience in employment law (preferably at a top‑tier firm)
Familiarity with venture capital or investment firm ecosystems strongly preferred
Excellent communication, drafting, and legal analysis skills
Strong academic credentials and bar admission in California
Experience with employment litigation is a plus but not required
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range: $260,000 – $390,000, based on experience and location
