About the Clinical Engagement Services Center The Clinical Engagement Services Center delivers a wide range of clinical services, including Adherence, Diabetes, Fraud Waste & Abuse, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Retrospective Drug Utilization Review, and STARS adherence. Our team is comprised of clinical pharmacists, certified pharmacy technicians, and customer service representatives who collaborate to meet the operational requirements of each program.
Position Overview The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in supporting members through telephonic consultations and, when necessary, in-person interactions. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive medication reviews, improving disease state management, documenting care, and communicating essential information to primary care providers.
Key Responsibilities Conduct telephonic consultations with members and schedule pharmacist appointments for clinical programs supported by the Center. Utilize prescription claims data to generate clinical recommendations in accordance with MTM and Retrospective Drug Utilization Review protocols. Identify and address gaps in care, high-risk medications, compliance and adherence issues, drug interactions, therapeutic substitutions, and opportunities for generic substitution. Assess medication regimens for unnecessary medications, ineffective therapies, inappropriate doses, and adverse drug reactions. Provide patient education on medication regimens and disease states. Document patient care notes and recommendations accurately, concisely, and professionally. Stay current with emerging clinical trends and best practices. Actively participate in departmental meetings to enhance clinical programs and processes. Adhere to all policies and procedures, meeting productivity and performance expectations. Support the Clinical Engagement Services team with special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Alabama. Strong knowledge of disease state management guidelines and the
Five Core Elements of MTM Services Experience working independently in a cross-functional team environment with strong organizational skills. Proficiency in navigating MTM platforms and multi-tasking across multiple databases and applications.
Preferred Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD). Bilingual proficiency in medical terminology (Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Russian, Spanish, or Vietnamese). Two or more years of pharmacy experience in retail, community pharmacy, or PBM (new graduates with experiential rotations will be considered). Additional pharmacist licenses in good standing in Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Oregon, Tennessee, or Vermont. Prior call center experience. ACPE MTM Specialist certification. Certified Geriatric Specialist designation. Board Certified Pharmacist credential.
