Opportunity Overview A respected defense practice is searching for an experienced attorney to join its liability team. This practice is well‑structured, supportive, and offers attorneys the chance to handle their own litigation matters while working closely with carrier representatives and clients. Attorneys joining this role will gain immediate file ownership, courtroom exposure, and consistent interaction with decision‑makers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage active caseloads, including all case milestones from inception to resolution.
Draft and argue motions, attend conferences, and conduct depositions across liability disputes.
Oversee discovery phases, including obtaining and organizing medical and investigative materials.
Communicate regularly with carriers and clients for updates, settlement direction, and strategy.
Support matters involving premises liability, transportation claims, property damage, and negligence disputes.
Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team dynamic.
Qualifications
JD degree and admission to the New York Bar required.
1–5 years of experience in general liability, personal injury defense, or auto/trucking litigation.
Additional admission in NJ, PA, or CT is a strong plus.
Proven deposition experience and ability to evaluate liability and damages.
Strong organization, client communication, and case handling discipline.
