Description Amazon's Enterprise Network team is looking to hire Network Engineers to help scale and automate one of the world's largest and complex networks. The Enterprise Network provides mission‑critical global connectivity for internal services and business applications, datacenter infrastructure equipment, and 1,000,000+ internal users. In this role you will look for innovative and creative ways to automate and scale our next‑generation network architectures.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost.

Key Job Responsibilities

Be responsible for deploying network infrastructure across all of our network fabrics that support the Amazon Retail Service and AWS services.

Deploy, scale and automate our network across many global data centers, including existing footprints and new locations.

Identify opportunities and develop tooling to increase scaling velocity and quality.

Create simple, repeatable processes, and improve upon existing processes.

Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.

Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.

Work closely with our teams in defining the platforms and frameworks that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree.

Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.

Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting.

Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.

Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.

Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and operational excellence concepts or methodologies.

Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.

Experience with Unix and scripting in Perl, shell, C or C++.

Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem and work towards resolution.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company; in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, equity, sign‑on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided.
