Position Summary The Sr. Director of Security is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive physical security strategies for a large semiconductor manufacturing site. This role ensures the safety, security, and protection of all employees, contractors, visitors, physical assets, and intellectual property, through the deployment of advanced security systems, tools, and protocols. The Sr. Director will lead compliance efforts, oversee incident tracking and reporting, and collaborate cross-functionally to maintain a secure and resilient operational environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Security Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute a site-wide physical security strategy aligned with corporate standards and local operational needs.
Lead the implementation of security systems and tools including access control, surveillance, perimeter protection, and emergency response technologies.
Establish and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols for employees, contractors, and visitors.
System Implementation & Management
Oversee the selection, deployment, and maintenance of physical security infrastructure and software platforms.
Ensure integration of security systems with site operations, HR, and IT systems for seamless monitoring and control.
Manage vendor relationships and service contracts for security technology and personnel.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and industry-specific regulations related to physical security and workplace safety.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and drills to evaluate and improve security readiness.
Maintain documentation and readiness for internal and external inspections or audits.
Tracking, Reporting & Analytics
Monitor and track security incidents, access logs, and system alerts.
Develop and deliver regular reports on security metrics, incident trends, and compliance status to site leadership and corporate security.
Use data analytics to identify gaps and vulnerabilities and recommend proactive measures.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and develop a team of security professionals, including guards, system operators, and emergency response coordinators.
Collaborate with HR, Facilities, IT, and Operations to ensure alignment of security protocols with business needs.
Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response and crisis management at the site.
Serve as the primary point of contact for law enforcement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or related field.
15+ years of experience in physical security management, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
Experience in a high-tech or manufacturing environment, preferably semiconductors.
Strong knowledge of physical security systems, access control technologies, and emergency response planning.
Familiarity with OSHA, ISO, and other relevant compliance frameworks.
Security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in security management (e.g., CPP, PSP, or similar) is desired.
Experience with integrated security platforms and analytics tools is a plus.
Strong leadership, communication, and crisis management skills are preferred.
Knowledge of CHIPs Act security requirements is a plus.
Location This position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.
