Accounting & Finance Recruiter (direct hire, contract to hire, and contract type placements)
LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to work at a local, very positively recognized non profit here in San Diego. While it is for now temporary for approximately 5 months there is potential to transition into a permanent role. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth month-end processes.
Responsibilities
Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections while maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships
Prepare and post complex journal entries with precision, supporting accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards
Perform thorough account reconciliations across multiple accounts, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions to maintain integrity of financial data
Lead month-end close activities, including variance analysis and reporting, to deliver accurate and timely financial statements for leadership review
Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes, improve efficiency, and support organizational goals
3+ years of full cycle accounting experience, preferably with a larger nonprofit organizationStrong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes
Proficiency in MIP accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
