Art Basel seeks a strategic, organized Chief of Staff to support the CEO. This critical role is the linchpin between vision and execution, translating strategic priorities into actionable outcomes while ensuring seamless coordination across the global organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive operational excellence, facilitate executive decision‑making, and manage high‑stakes relationships with our Board of Directors, parent company MCH Group, and internal leadership teams.
Your responsibilities Leadership & CEO Support
Own the creation of high‑impact executive communications – emails, presentations, talking points, and strategic memos – for CEO engagement with Board of Directors, MCH Group leadership, and key stakeholders
Proactively manage CEO calendar, commitments, and follow‑through across multiple channels, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks working alongside CEO’s Executive Assistant
Act as strategic bridge between CEO and broader leadership, ensuring smooth information flow and collaboration
Serve as central coordination point for strategic projects, connecting dots between CEO priorities and senior leader execution
Prepare comprehensive briefing packages and strategic talking points for every high‑stakes meeting, arming the CEO with context and clear objectives
Serve as trusted advisor and sounding board, providing counsel on strategic decisions and organizational challenges
Relentlessly track critical deadlines and organizational commitments, surfacing obstacles early and driving resolution
Executive Committee Meeting Management & Communications
Design and facilitate Executive Committee Team meetings – building agendas, preparing materials and capturing decisions and action items
Implement executive reporting systems (5‑15 reports, personnel scorecards) that create visibility and drive accountability for the CEO
Collaborate with Communications function on Global Team Calls and Leadership Team Calls, ensuring meetings provide clarity and the information needed for teams to achieve goals and objectives
Navigate the complexity of coordinating across multiple time zones for our geographically dispersed leadership team
Board of Directors and MCH Relations
Own Board of Directors meeting preparation – presentations, agendas, and supporting materials – ensuring governance excellence and strategic alignment
Create compelling materials for MCH Group Management Team meetings that clearly communicate Art Basel’s strategy, performance, and needs
Collaborate with MCH Group Services on cross‑functional initiatives, maintaining strong parent company relationships
Design innovation packs and VIP experiences for Board members at Art Basel fairs, showcasing key highlights and milestones during during fair weeks
Strategic Project Leadership
Navigate sensitive organizational changes with diplomacy and strategic foresight, managing executive transitions and team reorganizations
In conjunction with the Director of People & Culture support the the performance review process for CEO direct reports – preparing materials for CEO to deliver review, written reviews for input into HR system, and managing timelines
Partner with external consultants on strategic projects, driving timelines, stakeholder alignment, and quality deliverables
Champion new organizational systems and tools (project management platforms, reporting frameworks) that increase efficiency and visibility
Spot organizational bottlenecks early and develop concrete solutions to unblock progress
Communications & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Global Head of Communications to define organization‑wide messaging strategy, cadence, and content
Serve as central coordination point for strategic projects, connecting dots between CEO priorities and senior leader execution
Build trusted relationships across internal and external stakeholders to unlock collaboration and accelerate key initiatives
Presentation Development & Materials Creation
Transform information and first draft presentations from across teams into board‑ready presentations with sharp narratives and professional polish
Build comprehensive workshop materials – agendas, presentations, and documentation – that enable productive leadership sessions
Your profile
10 years of progressive experience with at least 3‑5 years as Chief of Staff, in strategic operations, or supporting C‑suite executives in complex, fast‑paced environments
Track record of leading transformational projects and organizational change initiatives
Experience managing board relations and parent company dynamics, with comfort navigating complex governance structures
Exceptional writer and communicator who can distill complexity into compelling executive‑level narratives
Master orchestrator who can juggle multiple high‑stakes priorities without dropping balls
Sophisticated stakeholder manager who builds trust and influence at all levels – from investors to new hires
Strategic thinker with business acumen and sound judgment on complex decisions
