Position Overview As the Principal Systems Engineer - Guidance, Navigation, & Control Lead, you will support the development of future technology that enables Raytheon to deliver outstanding products to the warfighter. This onsite position is located in Tucson, AZ. The role combines leadership of GN&C engineering talent with deep technical responsibility for system modeling, simulation, and integration.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of GN&C engineers to develop tactical flight code via system modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Lead a team to develop missile simulation framework across multiple platforms for a family of effectors.

Manage budget for tactical code development projects.

Provide subject‑matter‑expert level support to simulation, guidance, navigation and control for a family of effectors.

Work within an agile framework to lead development of backlogs, plans, and metrics.

Support continuous improvement of people, processes, and tools.

Identify, establish, and implement best practices and lessons learned.

Utilize agile development methods, automation, and continuous integration.

Required Qualifications

Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.

Engineering experience in missile system applications, including but not limited to:

System‑level integration, modeling, and simulation (e.g., 6‑DoF simulation).

System performance analysis using modeling & simulation.

Pre‑flight and post‑flight test performance analysis and flight‑test matching.

Integration of control‑section and auto‑pilot electronics.

Formal qualification testing on flight‑test software.

Experience using Missilekit, GenSim, and GenWorld.

Experience managing and/or leading cross‑disciplined teams in a technical capacity.

Experience with MATLAB, Python, C, C++, and/or object‑oriented design.

Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance required prior to start date, with ability to obtain special program access.

Preferred Qualifications

Multi‑discipline engineering background with knowledge of GN&C and related technologies (embedded software, RF/IR seekers, modeling and simulation).

Experience in the missile software life‑cycle, including development and qualification testing.

Experience leading GN&C and functional design teams.

Experience using Linux and configuration management tools such as SVN, Git, and Microsoft Azure DevOps.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary range: 101,000 USD – 203,000 USD.

Relocation eligible – relocation assistance available.
