This Opportunity WSP USA is seeking an
Earth & Environment US Business Development Lead
focused on sustainability and resilience services that may operate out of any mutually agreed office in the USA.
The individual will direct the development and implementation of the growth strategy for private sector clients in service areas including climate risk, ESG, resilience, sustainability strategy, digital transformation and climate finance. Key activities include outreach to existing and potential clients, collaborating with WSP account leaders across sectors, building alliances with partners and peers, amplifying the company’s brand in the marketplace and participating in strategic sales.
The position will report directly to E&E’s US Development Director and will collaborate with leaders across the firm’s business lines to promote WSP’s sustainability and resilience initiatives, support client planning, industry knowledge sharing, and market development.

Build strong client and stakeholder relationships to support national and regional growth
Leverage WSP’s national and global reach to foster new and innovative client delivery opportunities
Deploy unique expertise to increase number of key accounts with a focus on emerging accounts
Evaluate and share market outlook, growth drivers, regulations, and funding sources with key account leaders
Deliver private sector sustainability and resilience sales target
Develop relationship with operational leadership and advise them of opportunities and resourcing needs
Instigate cross-business line teaming, coordination, and cross-selling
Expertise
Advance the strategic direction of the organization and position WSP for sustained growth consistent with the strategic plan
Leverage broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings
Foster development of new and emerging innovations
Encourage, support, and promote technical and professional development of all staff within WSP USA
Leverage existing sustainability and resilience clients for organic growth and internal collaboration
People & Culture
Inspire, motivate, and promote the best of WSP to clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and morale
Attract industry talent by fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment
Provide mentorship in strategic planning, market development, and client engagement
Collaborate with E&E regional leaders and national peers to build alliances
Emphasize employee training and development
Operational Excellence
Develop realistic market growth strategy based on industry trends and prioritize annual investments
Collaborate with E&E leaders to align growth forecast with US strategic plan
Seek opportunities for innovations and automation that improve processes and profitability
Focus on innovation and enhancing health & safety, quality, and sustainable standards
Enhance WSP’s ability to deliver high quality, sustainable projects to clients
Key performance indicators include organic growth, pipeline development, backlog growth, operating margin, inclusion & diversity, and guiding principles
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field (Masters preferred) and/or business management
15+ years’ experience in A/E/C industry with national experience in sustainability and resilience market
Visible industry leader nationally with existing client and partner relationships
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement national and regional strategies leading to strategic investment and organic growth
Demonstrated ability to build pipeline of project opportunities, lead client engagement planning, and lead pursuit teams to successful sales
Driven yet empathetic leader, experienced with diverse teams across US
Ability to navigate multi‑dimensional organizations to bring new resources, innovations, ideas, and best practices to clients
Demonstrated experience in leadership, personal accountability, and persistence
Strong business acumen with aptitude for improving processes and change management
Commitment to internal and external client service and broad knowledge of technical and project delivery
Strong budget management / enterprise business aptitude

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $175,400 – $320,900
