Preferred Location Los Angeles/Santa Monica, CA; or Remote, with preference for location in a major DMA (e.g., New York, Chicago, Dallas). Candidates based in the Los Angeles area will be expected to work onsite from our beautiful Santa Monica office 3x per week, in coordination with team and business requirements.

Role Summary Reporting to the VP, Head of Sponsorship, Sales Solutions and Partner Marketing, the

Senior Director, Head of Sponsorship Sales

will focus on developing partnerships for a collection of premium players associations and players themselves, including the MLBPA, NWSLPA, USWNTPA, WNBPA, as well as new properties OneTeam represents (such as Unrivaled). To be successful in this role, the individual should demonstrate:

Exceptional communication and teamwork

Self-motivation with proven experience and success in business development, sponsorship, athlete endorsements, brand sponsor consulting and/or advertising sales

Understanding of how agencies develop strategies to match properties and athletes to brands

A track record of success brokering multi-year deals and integrated partnerships including creative campaigns and production

Strong industry connections, and come with established relationships with brands and agencies that can be leveraged on Day 1

Deep understanding of the sports sponsorship and marketing landscape

The ability to energize a room and create connections with clients and therefore solutions for them, which will drive revenue for OneTeam

A creative seller who truly digests client needs and present long-term partnerships that align to OneTeam’s rights and client objectives

A strategic thinker, skilled storyteller, and collaborative leader who can turn insights into impactful sales tools

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

In collaboration with the VP, Head of Sponsorship, Sales Solutions and Partner Marketing, and Sales Strategy and Solutions team, determine where the whitespace is for OneTeam and PAs across integrated package sales as well as player procurement and group rights standalone deals

In partnership with Sales Solutions, generate sellable ‘platforms’ that are fresh, new, and compelling in the marketplace

Identify high potential target brands to align with and sponsor PAs and Athletes and develop agency relationships; generate inbound leads (or RFPs) alongside outbound

Develop and execute a partnership sales strategy that will exceed revenue targets utilizing Player Association IP / group rights, events, athletes, and custom content to drive revenue

Create and present unique activations and proposals that address the client’s specific business objectives and marketing challenges

Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that the partnerships are tailored to meet the client’s needs, and once sold that the partnerships overdeliver and renew

Manage a small sales team providing support and follow-through on current and active targets and active pipeline and follow-through

Identify and negotiate potential media partnerships (in partnership with Sales Solutions) to expand PA events into media properties or package additional media inventory into sales process

Key Skills, Experience And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

15 years of relevant experience, with a focus on direct sales or business development for a major sports league or agency

Deep understanding of the sports sponsorship environment, both men’s and women’s sports, including the ability to speak knowledgeably about industry trends and client challenges

Strong track record of success in exceeding sales targets

Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and develop compelling proposals

Experience presenting to existing and prospective clients

Ability to understand and leverage data and insights to inform strategy

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and opportunities simultaneously

Proficient in PPT, Sharepoint, and sales CRM software (e.g., Pipedrive, Salesforce)

Interest in sports, media, entertainment, and athlete empowerment

Compensation Salary Range: $170,000 – 185,000 + bonus opportunity. OneTeam Partners offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, supplemental benefits, wellness benefits, paid vacation, and a 401k plan. The above compensation reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on Los Angeles, CA and current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Title and actual pay may be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experience, education, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. Depending on the location of the role, this position may be classified as hourly, non‑exempt, and thus eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable laws.

Working Conditions This role involves computer-based work, including video conferencing and frequent written and verbal communication with internal teams and external partners. Extended periods of sitting and screen time are expected. Travel will be required to attend meetings, industry events, or partner visits, which may include standing, walking, or transporting light materials (e.g., laptops, promotional items). The position requires the ability to work across multiple time zones, manage concurrent projects under tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. This role can be remote or based in an office setting, depending on organizational needs.
