Corporate Services / Tech Consulting Position Overview Our client, a well-established organization in Bergen County, is seeking a polished and experienced
HR Generalist
to support a workforce of approximately
600 employees . This role requires a confident, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in
benefits administration ,
employee relations , and
full-cycle HR support . The ideal candidate will be SHRM-certified, possess excellent communication skills, and be comfortable working with high-level stakeholders in a corporate environment. Key Responsibilities Benefits Administration : Manage health, dental, vision, STD/LTD, and vacation cash-out programs; approve QLEs and verify dependent eligibility. Onboarding & Offboarding : Conduct I-9 verification, background checks, payroll documentation, and separation processes including legal compliance for final payouts. Employee Relations : Handle complaints, conduct investigations, and advise managers on disciplinary actions and PIPs. Performance Management : Oversee performance reviews, monitor PIPs, and coach managers on employee development. Leave Administration : Manage FMLA, personal leaves, and Unum STD/LTD claims. Compliance & Reporting : Maintain job posters, manage state PTO policies, and complete new hire state reporting. HR Operations : Run reports in Paychex, manage PTO requests, wage garnishments, unemployment claims, and administrative tasks like PPI invoices. Employee Lifecycle Support : Handle promotions, transfers, salary changes, and quarterly promotion announcements. Special Projects : Participate in ad hoc HR initiatives and process improvements. International & Remote Work Oversight : Manage travel outside the U.S. and out-of-state relocations. Requirements Experience : 5–10 years in a corporate HR environment supporting 100+ employees; experience in industries like tech consulting or corporate services preferred. Certifications : SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred. Technical Skills : Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables); experience with Paychex. Communication : Must be articulate, professional, and able to communicate effectively with senior leadership. Attributes : Highly organized, detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Knowledge Areas : Strong understanding of FMLA, reasonable accommodations, performance management, and HR compliance. Seniority level
