Salary: $145,000 - $175,000 base, bonus + 401(k) matching + full benefits. Hybrid Remote in Washington DC (3 days in office / 2 days remote). Full-Time/Permanent.
Job Summary We are a leading architecture, engineering, planning, and interior design firm with over 100 years of experience. Our award‑winning portfolio spans 91 countries and all 50 U.S. states. This role is responsible for managing design contracts for the U.S. Federal Government, primarily with the Department of Defense, Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Space Force, and National Guard.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing design contracts for U.S. Federal Government projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) (SpecsIntact), and DOD Installation Design Standards.
Ensure compliance with budgets, financial, and contractual requirements of projects.
Directly manage small Minor Capital/SRM projects as well as large complex projects.
Provide technical leadership to project delivery teams.
Establish and discuss project goals, objectives, design standards, and procedures with project personnel, Market Sector Leader(s), and Director of Operations.
Coordinate and conduct internal meetings with staff and consultants to ensure compliance of construction documentation and design specifications with contractual scope, codes, standards, regulations, design guides, construction budget, and design delivery schedule.
Manage pre‑design services including DoD planning, programming, feasibility studies, facility condition assessment, site selection, and cost analysis.
Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations on design and production of projects; present proposals, reports, and findings to clients.
Lead reviews with government agencies and jurisdictional agencies for code compliance.
Assist with managing performance of design quality, financial, and strategic goals.
Monitor and review technical quality of documents produced in accordance with government and company standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture.
Design‑build experience required.
Experience managing federal projects required (including financial performance of the team and projects, fee proposals, contracting obligations and modifications, team coordination, and document submission at each phase).
Architectural License or working toward it.
