American Vanguard was founded in 1969 and is a $600M diversified agricultural and specialty products company focusing on crop protection, turf and ornamental markets, and public health applications. The Company markets its product lines in the USA and internationally in 24 countries, including Brazil, Latin America, Mexico, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and several other countries in Asia. American Vanguard has four primary multi-product chemical manufacturing facilities in the USA. In addition, the Company operates three biological manufacturing plants (in the USA, Mexico and India). Our manufacturing facilities operate batch processing systems and synthesize chemicals and formulate those products into finished goods. The Company’s ERP platform is QAD. At the present time, the Company is implementing a new digital version of QAD across all of our businesses including several entities that have been acquired in the last few years. The Role :
We are seeking a Vice President of Finance with strong technical skills and the experience and ability to add significant value to the transformation of our organization including working to implement improved and more efficient processes and controls. The company culture is dynamic, entrepreneurial and fast paced, and has been created following a string of international acquisitions during the last few years. You will join in the process of upgrading and standardizing our procedures to bring uniform and consistent global standards to all of our worldwide entities. Key Responsibilities :
Provide excellent financial decision support to both financial and executive leadership Working with the established and experienced team to create accurate and timely period financial statements, forecasts and budgets Ensure compliance with US GAAP for all reporting entities Ensure compliance in all international jurisdictions with local GAAP in statutory filings Support the Company in the implementation of the Global ERP platform (QAD) and with the creation of a new shared services center Basic Qualifications :
Current CPA license Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field 10+ years of work experience as a Controller in a global business Experience gained in public accounting or other professional services firm is a plus Experience as a Controller in a public company – preferably mid-cap is a plus Individual Skills :
Excellent written and oral communication skills focused on financial management Demonstrable attention to detail Well organized Clear experience with managing both Domestic and International business issues resolution Experience of dealing with Big 4 accounting firms for Audit Experience in SOX compliance Mindset & Behaviors :
Work well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment Self-starter, motivated Must be able to work independently on assigned projects / programs Willingness to be hands-on, with the ability to delegate Flexible, Mature, Team player with strong analytical skills This Position includes :
