Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Lead Audit Counsel
Join KPMG US as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, Lead Audit Counsel in the Office of the General Counsel.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary OGC contact for leadership of the Audit and Assurance Practice on legal and regulatory matters.
Advising the Tax and Advisory functions on similar matters and potential dispute resolution.
Organize the Practice Advisory Group to support the Audit & Assurance Practice.
Stay current on legal and regulatory developments affecting the audit profession and advise the Practice accordingly.
Support the development of comment letters and guidance for Audit & Assurance Practice.
Qualifications
Minimum of 15 years experience in law firm, government or in‑house legal practice; JD or LLM from accredited law school; licensed to practice in the U.S.
Deep experience with civil litigation and regulatory investigations related to audits of public and private companies.
Knowledge of securities laws and regulations relevant to the audit profession.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, deliver high‑quality results and exhibit strategic thinking.
Strong collaboration and partnership building skills across cross‑functional teams.
Leadership skills with ability to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
Proactive in identifying opportunities for enhancement and innovation, including leveraging technology.
