Girls JV Lacrosse Head Coach Position Title:

Position Preview The ideal candidate will have a deep passion and knowledge of the sport, a commitment to hands‑on, student‑centered coaching practices, and the ability to demonstrate proper technique. We seek thoughtful, energetic, and passionate coaches who use multiple coaching modalities. We also look for genuine, kind colleagues who want to participate in and contribute to our vibrant community.

Position Summary The lacrosse season starts February 2, 2026 and runs through approximately May 1, 2026. Teams practice every weekday from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on non‑game days. The JV Head Girls Lacrosse Coach is responsible for coaching and managing the junior varsity team, providing leadership, instruction, and motivation, fostering skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, academic achievement, and working closely with the Varsity Head Coach.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement practice plans focusing on skill development, conditioning, and teamwork.

Game day preparation: manage lineups, substitutions, and in‑game strategy.

Supervise assistant coaching staff.

Maintain open communication with student‑athletes, parents, the athletic director, and varsity coaching staff regarding expectations, schedules, and performance.

Work with individual players to develop skills and game knowledge.

Assess and evaluate players' performance to inform roster decisions and support potential movement between JV and varsity.

Foster a positive, inclusive team culture emphasizing teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship.

Ensure safety protocols and school policies are followed; monitor athletes' health and fitness.

Encourage academic excellence and monitor eligibility.

Assist with equipment and uniform distribution, collection, and care.

Collaborate with the varsity head coach to align strategies, philosophies, and player development plans.

Qualifications

Prior lacrosse coaching experience (preferably high school or youth); playing experience preferred.

High school diploma required.

In-depth knowledge of lacrosse rules, tactics, and strategies.

Leadership skills to motivate and guide young athletes.

Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them before the season starts.

Current CIF/NFHS certifications, or willingness to obtain before the season starts.

Pass a background check in accordance with school district policy.
