Gryphon Oakwood are currently working on a Director of Operations to work with the Owner to lead and optimize all aspects of the business (new construction, design-build, retrofits and service) in Columbus and the surrounding area. For a leading mechanical contractor with a strong reputation in HVAC and refrigeration for commercial facilities (Office, High‑Rise, Multi‑family, Restaurants and Warehouses).
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations across new construction, design‑build, retrofits, and service divisions.
Improve processes, workflows, and KPIs to increase efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Oversee project delivery, scheduling, labor planning, and resource allocation.
Ensure all safety, compliance, and quality standards are met.
Monitor financial performance, budgets, and job cost reports; drive margin improvement.
Support client relations and assist with resolving escalated project or service issues.
Recruit, mentor, and develop operational and project management teams.
Key Qualifications
10+ years of operations or project leadership experience in mechanical contracting, HVAC, or construction.
Proven track record managing large, multi‑phase commercial projects or service operations.
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, margin analysis, and forecasting.
Expertise in workflow optimization, scheduling, and resource planning.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems for commercial facilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
