Our
Senior Telecommunications Engineers
work on various projects as assigned by a Department Manager or Lead Engineer. This position will play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to
Preliminary assessments
Concept creation
Internal and external problem resolution
Drawing and specification production
Customer and vendor accessibility
Being the EoR for designs
Providing Coverage for Project leads
Depending on bandwidth, this person may also lead projects
The Senior Telecommunications Engineer may work on several concurrent projects and will be responsible to ensure that projects are completed on time.
As a
Senior Telecommunications Engineer , you’ll provide technical design leadership of systems for data center buildings which include structured cabling systems, wireless, audio visual, and other low voltage systems.
Additionally, the Senior Telecommunications Engineer will mentor other telecom team members.
Responsibilities
Leading the BIM designers in preparation of engineering drawings
DIV 27 specification creation, or modification
Conduct site visits
Review technical documents
Learn from more senior team leaders and be mentored
Managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders
Sign and Seal telecommunications design packages
Mentoring other team members
Working with the lead engineer and/or department manager to identify processes to make the department run more efficiently
Requirements
Electrical Engineering or Communication Engineering bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college
Minimum 8 years’ experience actively designing or leading designs for Telecommunications structured cabling systems
Thorough knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards
Thorough knowledge of NFPA 70 and how it applies to telecommunications structured cabling systems
Proficiency with Bluebeam
Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers and clients
Excellent project management skills
Familiarity with responding to RFP’s
Experience in providing Quality Assurance and checking of telecommunications systems designed by others
Experience with start-up and commissioning of telecommunications systems
Experienced in creating a budget for a project
Experienced in creating and maintaining a project schedule
Experienced in identifying and mitigating company riskPE license and the ability to obtain multiple PE licenses is required
Preferred Experience
4 years telecommunications design experience in Data Centers
Experience working on other low voltage systems which include
Security
Audio/Visual
Wireless
Working knowledge of Revit and Navisworks design software platforms
Knowledge of telecom infrastructure for controls systems, and security systems
Thorough Knowledge of CSI or AIA specification writing procedures
Credential as an RCDD
