This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, including award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years), are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending completion of training or licensing requirements may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met the requirements at their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements.
Basic Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable, per VA policy.
Degree of doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Residency training approved by the VA, leading to eligibility for board certification, in an accredited program.
Residents enrolled in ACGME/AOA accredited programs are eligible for appointment as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and appointed on an intermittent or fee basis.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Pre-employment physical required, including lifting, reaching, use of fingers/hands, walking, standing, kneeling, and visual and auditory capabilities.
Duties
The Paragould Community-Based Outpatient Clinic offers primary care services in a welcoming community in northeastern Arkansas. The physician will work within the VA's Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model, providing accessible, coordinated, patient-centered care to adult and geriatric veterans.
