We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. This is a contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to support personal injury attorneys in a dynamic legal environment. The role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with case management systems, and the ability to handle various legal administrative tasks effectively.
Responsibilities:
• Manage case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Utilize MyCase or similar case management software to organize and track case progress.
• Coordinate with medical professionals to obtain records and bills for insurance settlements.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including briefs, agreements, and demand letters.
• Communicate with insurance companies to facilitate claims and settlements.
• Support attorneys in preparing for court proceedings and client meetings.
• Maintain compliance with legal billing procedures and deadlines.
• Analyze medical records and summarize relevant information for legal purposes.
• Assist in managing the workflow of legal cases, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling and correspondence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software such as MyCase.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with legal billing and compliance processes.
• Ability to analyze and summarize medical records.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
