Production Supervisor

This is an on‑site position in San Diego with a salary range of $71,000–77,000 annually. Compensation is based on experience, skills, education and job knowledge. Ascential offers a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, paid holidays, basic life, medical, dental, vision and a 401(k) match.
Key Responsibilities
Tiered Accountability & Involvement: instill a culture rooted in safety, quality, delivery and cost (SQDC) parameters.
Lead Tier 2 daily stand‑ups and participate in next‑level tier meetings.
Ensure daily/weekly delivery plans are met and react to or escalates issues that threaten the plan.
Proactively monitor and resolve roadblocks to the team’s successful execution of the day’s plan and escalates issues that cannot be resolved to the Production Manager.
People, Safety & 5S: rapid action on safety incidents and proactively identify near misses; daily execution of the 5‑S system (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain); collaborate with other plant supervisors and managers to allocate resources as needed; own the area training plan, ensuring adequate cross‑training.
Quality: rapidly respond to quality issues (non‑conformances); lead rapid problem‑solving initiatives; employ PDCA, 8D and other recognized methodologies; champion continuous improvement projects and waste elimination strategies.
Visual Management & Organization: advocate for the 5‑S system; integrate visual work aids to bolster process transparency and efficiency.
Leadership & Coaching: serve as the standard of the production system, guiding with integrity, clarity and vision; adopt a coach‑centric style; proactively ensure leads adhere to the highest standards of quality and regulatory ownership; provide management with feedback and insights on daily operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role, with 3+ functionally related years of experience.
Experience in managing and optimizing advanced production systems.
Background in structured problem‑solving tools and methodologies.
Exceptional leadership qualities with a passion for coaching, mentoring and personnel development.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
Adeptness in using production‑related software and tools.
Ability to work as part of a team across the organization.
