Principal Scientist (Director) – Outcomes Research – Gastric Cancers Director, Outcomes Research role at Merck within the Value and Implementation (V&I) Outcomes Research organization. This position supports the V&I teams in Gastrointestinal Malignancies with a primary focus on gastric cancer. The individual will work under senior leadership to guide value evidence projects, design and lead research studies, develop evidence dossiers, and communicate findings to stakeholders worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities

Support the value evidence teams in gastric cancer and lead the execution of value evidence projects for in‑line and pipeline products, providing outcomes research leadership to cross‑functional regional and global teams.

Critically assess drivers and barriers to reimbursement and market access, collaborating with internal teams to inform clinical, payer/access, marketing and value evidence generation strategies.

Design non‑interventional and data synthesis studies, author study protocols, develop measurement questionnaires, case report forms, data analysis plans, final study reports, scientific presentations, and publications.

Manage study‑related contracting, budgets, vendor and partner relationships.

Develop American Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) dossiers for US payers and Global Value Dossiers.

Prepare supplementary clinical data packages for Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies in partnership with country affiliates and the HTA statistics group.

Assist country affiliates in understanding local evidence generation needs and adapt health economic evaluations and outcomes research documents to local requirements.

Communicate outcomes research and health economic modeling data to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Maintain awareness of new scientific and methodological developments within the therapeutic area.

Build relationships with scientific experts worldwide and present at national and international congresses, publishing articles in scientific journals.

Required Experience And Skills

Advanced or professional degree in Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, Medicine, or Clinical Pharmacy.

5+ years of relevant experience after obtaining the advanced or professional degree.

Oncology experience.

Minimum Education Required

PhD in Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Administration, Health Policy, or Public Health.
