Overview
Under the guidance of an Executive Director, within the Value and Implementation Outcomes Research Pneumococcal Vaccines team, the incumbent has responsibilities related to developing and implementing value evidence programs and Real World evidence strategies to support HTA, reimbursement, and NITAG evaluations worldwide. Responsibilities
Development of the integrated evidence strategy to support Health Technology Assessment (HTA) / reimbursement / NITAG evaluations. Development of overall Real World evidence strategies for pneumococcal vaccines on a worldwide basis. Development and implementation of Outcomes Research (OR) and Real World evidence programs to meet the value evidence needs of payers, advisory committees, health systems, and clinicians. The incumbent generates plans based on interactions with HTA agencies, HTA/reimbursement experts, NITAGs, and country affiliates to understand country-specific HTA/reimbursement needs and input on research design and implementation of retrospective database studies, assessment of patient reported outcomes, epidemiological studies, and economic modeling. The Associate Principal Scientist works closely with Product Development Teams, Franchise Teams, Regional Product Directors, affiliates, Public Affairs, and Medical Education to ensure value evidence programs align with marketing strategies in key countries. Represents Outcomes Research on one or more Value Teams and provides leadership in developing outcomes research strategies and plans for developmental compounds, obtaining cross-divisional senior management approval. Critically assesses drivers and barriers to reimbursement and market access; identifies value evidence needs to inform clinical and market development programs. Brings a payer and HTA/reimbursement focus into the Product Development Team(s). Develops the integrated evidence strategy including HTA/OR strategy and generates evidence for HTA/reimbursement purposes. Develops and evaluates health programs leveraging parts of health care systems to enhance value and use of company products. Implements programs to document the burden and cost of diseases, unmet medical need, patient reported outcomes (PRO), and the value of drug therapy, generating data worldwide to support pricing and reimbursement. Develops value evidence deliverables (e.g., global value dossier, health economic evaluations) and adapts them to generate country-specific data for pricing and reimbursement. Works with Value team members to develop OR plans for in-line and developmental products based on regulatory, marketing, and reimbursement environments worldwide, including US market needs. Collaborates with Research Division, affiliates, and consultants to write, coordinate, and validate study designs, protocols, questionnaires, case report forms, data analysis plans, and final reports/publications. Evaluates outcomes research study protocols for local market studies with our Investigator Study Program Committee. Supports affiliates to understand local needs, adapt health economic evaluations, and customize OR documents such as protocols and reimbursement dossiers, including worldwide template documents and global value dossiers, with country-specific data and local customization. Works with other departments to communicate Outcomes Research findings/value evidence and ensure consistent messaging internally and with external customers. Maintains awareness of scientific developments in the area, including new methodologies and engagement with outcomes research thought leaders. Leverages other groups on the Value & Insight (V&I) team to develop and execute OR plans, including Market Access, Medical Affairs, Epidemiology, etc. Builds relationships with health economic and outcomes research experts worldwide. Provide scientific oversight and mentorship to junior team members. Present research plans and results to internal review and governance committees; to external experts and agencies (e.g., the United Kingdom Health Security Agency) and at scientific conferences. Maintain recognition as an expert in the field; publish independent scientific research in major journals, participate in and present at scientific meetings, and serve as a peer reviewer for scientific journals. The salary range for this role is $153,800.00 - $242,200.00. The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
