Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/15/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position, requiring an active Oregon RN license and strong skills in all L&D care areas.

Responsibilities Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby unit Unit includes 5 L&D beds, 1 triage bed, 3 postpartum beds, and 1 OR suite within the unit (not scrub/circulate responsibility for L&D RNs) Annual volume is approximately 340 deliveries, averaging 30-35 per month Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines Typical patient population includes routine L&D, postpartum, and nursery; not a high risk department RNs must titrate Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate drips Central fetal monitoring system (FE Centricity Perinatal) is used MEDITECH 5.66 EMR is utilized for charting 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a), with every other weekend required Block scheduling and shift trades allowed Holiday coverage requires working one major and one minor holiday if applicable Floating to other units as helping hands may be required Scrubs are provided RNs provide comprehensive care for laboring and postpartum patients and are expected to handle routine and intermediate nursery patients independently Each RN works collaboratively with a minimum of one other nurse on each shift and serves as backup for colleagues Charge nurse and house supervisor available for clinical support Unit secretary/CNA II support is available on the unit OB is on site almost always during labor, with 24/7 on-call coverage Unit can fluctuate between slow and very busy, requiring adaptability and strong prioritization skills Orientation consists of 3 shifts (approximately 12 hours)

Requirements Active Oregon RN license required (or ability to obtain a 90-day emergency license) Minimum 2 years of recent experience in L&D, postpartum, and routine/intermediate nursery care Current certifications in BLS and NRP required; pending certifications not accepted Ability to work independently across all areas of L&D, postpartum, and nursery Experience titrating Pitocin, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential Experience with MEDITECH EMR and central fetal monitoring preferred 2 professional references needed: one supervisor reference from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility Copy of driver's license required for consideration Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-643175.
