14 (patients remain in the same room for labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum) OR Suites (C-Sections):

RNs circulate and recover
Triage Beds:
4 (travelers will staff triage) Birth Volume:
~90 births/month ~1,200 births/year
Model:
Unique LDRP model with NICU embedded in 7 rooms Staffing & Ratios
AWHONN Staffing Standards followed
Labor: 1:1 (may pair 2 cervical ripening patients) Postpartum: 1:3 couplets Triage: 1:3 (resource nurse utilized if 4 patients)
Charge Nurse:
Admin Supervisor on every shift Charge RNs do
not
take patient assignments
Additional Support:
Resource RN (assists with breaks, attends all deliveries as “baby catcher,” second med sign-off) Dedicated triage RN
Patient Population
32 weeks gestation and greater Hypertensive disorders (including magnesium therapy) TOLACs Gestational diabetes Antepartum patients High number of transfers from home births seeking medical intervention and pain control Exclusions:
No placenta previa or placenta accreta Serves a very diverse community Required Certifications
BLS ACLS NRP STABLE RNs
titrate drips Common drips include:
Pitocin (protocol driven) Magnesium sulfate Insulin drips (occasional)

In-house 24/7 Neonatal NP:
In-house 24/7 Anesthesia:
In-house 24/7 Respiratory Therapy:
Available for troubleshooting CST:

Compliance and EPIC Curio assignments must be completed prior to start Dress Code & Policies
Hospital-issued scrubs required
Must change in and out at start/end of shift
Strict nail policy:
No fingernail polish, acrylics, or gel nails
Travel duos:
Must have
two vehicles
(floating between sites possible)
Scrub colors may vary by site
